If you love carrot cake but don’t want to bake (or just need an excuse to drink your dessert), this Carrot Cake Milkshake is for you! It’s creamy, spiced, and tastes like a slice of cake in a glass. Plus, it’s ready in minutes!

I love making this Carrot Cake Milkshake for my family because it’s delicious and I love sneaking veggies into all of kid's foods, like this mango kale smoothie too!
This milkshake has all the warm, cozy flavors of a homemade carrot cake like cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and a hint of sweetness, but without the time and effort of baking. Plus, it’s a sneaky way to get a little bit of veggies into a treat for my kids!
The shredded carrots blend up smoothly, adding sweetness and color, and no one even notices they’re there. It’s one of those recipes that feels special and it always brings smiles when I hand over a glass topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Whether it’s a weekend treat, an after-school surprise, or a fun no bake dessert after dinner, this milkshake is one of those little joys I love making for my family.

Ingredients to Make Carrot Cake Milkshake

- Vanilla ice cream. It's the base to most of my milkshake recipes. Use your favorite brand of vanilla ice cream. Frozen yogurt would work too!
- Milk. Whole milk will give you a really creamy recipe, but you could use 2% or skim milk if that is what you have on hand. Nondairy milk would be great too!
- Shredded carrots. In your local grocery store you can usually find pre-shredded carrots or you can shred your own carrots with a box grater.
- Crushed pineapple. For a little sweetness.
- Spices. We'll be using both cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Cream cheese. The cream cheese acts as the flavor like a cream cheese frosting would on your normal carrot cake recipe.

Substitutions and Variations
- Swap the ice cream for coconut or oat-based vanilla ice cream and use almond or oat milk instead of dairy milk.
- Want a protein boost? Add a scoop of vanilla protein powder.
- For an adult version, add a splash of spiced rum or bourbon. Just make sure you make a big batch for the kids too!
