Ingredients to Gather
You only need a few simple ingredients to make this Strawberry Pineapple Smoothie recipe!

- Fresh Strawberries. Make sure to wash them well and cut the stem off of the strawberries. When it's the Summer time, we go strawberry picking all the time and this recipe and my strawberry banana smoothie without milk are both great ways to use those delicious, juicy strawberries!
- Pineapple. Sweet pineapple transports you right to the tropics! In the grocery store, you can find fresh pineapple, canned pineapple, or frozen pineapple. Any of those options are great choices. If you are using a fresh pineapple, how to cut a pineapple is a step by step tutorial to show you how to do it!
- Greek yogurt. This adds protein to the smoothie. I always have vanilla in the refrigerator, but you can use plain, vanilla yogurt, strawberry, or whatever your favorite flavor of Greek yogurt is. Sometimes you can even find pina colada flavor which would be delicious in this smoothie!
- Orange juice. Orange juice adds a little more sweetness, but also some tang. Any type of orange juice would be good because it is going to all be blended together.

Substitutions and Variations
- Banana: A common ingredient in most smoothies, bananas provide additional sweetness and thickness. It gives the smoothie a really nice creamy texture.
- Spinach or kale: Sneak in some greens to your smoothie. You won't even notice they are in there, I promise! I find that it's important to have a high speed blender when adding kale or spinach. You don't want the smoothie to taste like chopped salad, so make sure to blend the smoothie really well if you are adding spinach or kale.
- Chia seeds, hemp seeds, or flax seeds: Boosts omega-3 fatty acids and adds a slight crunch and some more added nutrition. Most grocery stores have chia seeds or flaxseeds in the bakery aisle.
- Coconut milk or almond milk: Offers a dairy-free alternative and a subtle nutty flavor. If you are making this a dairy-free smoothie, use a coconut milk yogurt too instead of dairy yogurt. Coconut water, unsweetened almond milk, cashew milk, or whatever your favorite milk is would all be great in this recipe.
- Pineapple juice: Add pineapple juice instead of orange juice for even more tropical flavors.
- Ice cubes: Creates a colder and more refreshing smoothie. The ice cubes also add more texture and usually provide a thicker smoothie.
- Honey or maple syrup: Adds natural sweetness if your fruits aren't sweet enough. Be sure to taste the smoothie before you add any extra sweetness. For a long time I've also added sweetened condensed milk.
- Protein powder: Ideal for those looking to increase protein intake, especially post-workout. Vanilla or strawberry would be great choices to add to this smoothie.
- Nut butter: Add some nut butter to this smoothie too! Peanut butter, almond butter, or cashew butter are all great options. Add a tablespoon or two right into your high-speed blender.
