This version is much easier to make since we are just using three ingredients, making it a quick, easy, and foolproof dessert. No need to worry about gelatin or egg whites, this is more like a chocolate whipped cream, and it's so yummy!
Ingredients to Make 3 Ingredient Chocolate Mousse
You only need 3 simple ingredients to make this delicious mousse!
- Heavy cream. Make sure it is cold. Colder heavy cream is easier to whip up then room temperature heavy cream.
- Powdered sugar. It should be powdered sugar or confectioners sugar. Don't use regular granulated sugar or your mousse will be grainy.
- Cocoa powder. This is a chocolate mousse after all! Use unsweetened cocoa powder do it doesn't get overly sweet.

- Make it minty! Just like my mint chocolate chip milkshake, mint chocolate is so good! Add a few drops of peppermint extract to the heavy cream.
- Make it boozy! Add a few tablespoons of your favorite liquor to the mousse after it has been mixed together. Just make sure to keep some aside for the kids before you add liqueur into it. Kahlua, Bailey's, or your favorite liquor are great choices.
- Make it fruity! Add some chopped strawberries or some orange zest. Those are both delicious fruit flavors that go well with chocolate.
