Peaches are the BEST Summer fruit! Don't fight me on this one! They have been my favorite fruit since I was a kid. There's nothing better than biting into a big juicy peach with the juice running down your arm in the heat of the Summer!
Have you ever gone peach picking though? If you have, you know that those peaches don't last long and we always pick WAY more peaches than we need! So I make peach chia seed pudding, peach smoothies, and this peach milkshake along with tons of baked goods!
If you love peaches too, you’re in for a treat! This peach milkshake combines the creamy richness of a classic milkshake with the fresh, fruity flavor of summer. It's like drinking a bite of peach pie! It tastes just like that milkshake from Chick-Fil-A, but much cheaper!
Ingredients in a Peach Milkshake
- Peaches. The juicier the better! To find a ripe peach, gently squeeze it and look for a slight give. It should be soft but not mushy. Check for a sweet peachy scent and a deep color without green patches.
- Vanilla ice cream. Like most milkshakes, we start with vanilla ice cream. It’s a great base for any milkshake. You could also try peach ice cream for extra flavor.
- Milk. This will help thin out the milkshake.

Fresh Peaches vs. Canned Peaches
When you're shopping, you might notice that there are fresh peaches and canned peaches. Though it might seem like they are the same, there are a few simple differences to keep in mind.
Think of fresh peaches and canned peaches as two sides of the peach coin. Fresh peaches are just that—juicy, ripe peaches that you can slice up and eat as is. They’re perfect for recipes where you want the natural sweetness to shine. That is exactly what we want in this milkshake.
Canned peaches, on the other hand, are usually packed in syrup, which makes them sweeter. If you have those in your pantry, you can use them for this milkshake, just make sure to drain off the extra syrup or the milkshake will be too sweet and too thin.
Substitutions and Variations
- Make it dairy free! Use your favorite non-dairy milk and non-dairy ice cream. It makes a perfect vegan milkshake!
- Make it boozy! Add a splash of your favorite liqueur. Peach schnapps, rum, or vodka are all great choices.
- Make it a peach melba milkshake. Blend in some raspberries or raspberry sauce for a classic peach melba twist.
- Add in some flavorings! Cinnamon, vanilla extract, and coconut are all delicious flavorings to add to this yummy milkshake.
How To Make Peach Milkshakes
Step 1: In a high-speed blender, add the chopped peaches, milk, and ice cream. Blend for 1-2 minutes or until the milkshake is creamy and smooth.
Step 2: Pour the milkshake into your favorite glass and top with homemade whipped cream and a peach slice.
Lynn's Tip!
Peel the peaches if you don't like the skin. It's not 100% necessary, but it will make for a smoother milkshake.
Tips and Tricks
- This recipe makes two medium-sized milkshakes. You can easily double or triple it to feed a crowd. Just make sure you have a big enough blender to fit all the ingredients.
- To keep the milkshake colder, longer, chill the glass that you are serving the milkshake in.
- For a thicker milkshake, add an extra scoop of ice cream. For a thinner milkshake, add an extra splash of milk or some canned peach juice.
Storage Instructions
Peach milkshakes are best enjoyed right away while they’re thick and frosty. If they are kept in the refrigerator, they will separate and lose their texture.
You can actually freeze this recipe though! It makes great popsicles! Pour the milkshake into your favorite popsicle mold and freeze for at least 4 hours.
If you are going to freeze this peach milkshake, pour it into a freezer-safe container. Freeze, and when you’re ready to enjoy it, place the frozen milkshake into a blender and add some milk. Blend until it's smooth and creamy.
